Musings and Inquiries
Are any of these statements true for you?

Bringing cynicism and optimism into a harmonious balance....
Despite the rhetoric, most economic policy is designed to preserve the status quo rather than address systemic problems. Successful lobbying has transformed the political process. That is one way for businesses to go in trying to get better economic results from political changes or policy. That leveraging has been used by some to build the strength of their brand. There are some things policy can not dictate, like your desires, what you are passionate about...how you feel. You have immediate desires and Big Vision Desires. A big desire would be embodied in your hopes for a better world and yourself in that context. Your survival and that of the planet are interconnected. ===============================================Tip for making better strategic decisions:
Take a long view look at your product and sales impacts. Question to ask: What are the true costs of doing business? Look at your financial costs, social and environmental impacts from production, distribution, sales/marketing, consumption, and disposal. ============================================================= 8888888888888888888888888888888888888 In musings and inquiries here let's look primarily through the lens of the enterprise and at the Discovery blog I will share insights through a more personal lens of my artist practice...which sneaks in here and there. Art:Works explore Attention as an asset. 88888888888888888888888888888888888888 So often businesses, especially smaller enterprises, struggle to find ways to take on big issues or develop BIG VISIONS while also achieving their bottom line objectives for sales. People are understandably overwhelmed with keeping your business and life on track - . But your business and consumer habits exist in both a social and environmental context. This is expressed in your business strategy that factors in the complete life cycle of your products, and relationships, as well as their impacts. You don't have to have to muddle through this unfamiliar terrain alone. Some folks put their attention on flashy marketing blitz campaigns that are soon forgotten. The changes business owners as community leaders are called to make can seem overwhelming. But it doesn't have to be once you accept you don't have to do it alone. Change can be un-nerving and you need help that will stick with you through the rough spots and the discovery process. ----------------------------------------------------------------- ================================================== ?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? These kind of services are the front-end of the Art:Work concept. ?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? There have been so many amazing projects that have come to my attention and inspired me that it is worth it to find ways to do what it is in our hearts to do. If there was ever a time we needed to dig deep and shine light on defining what something better looks like...how does it work...what is your role? That bit we are passionate about is just the piece that's needed. What you want to give through the service you provide in its most authentic expression, is just what is needed to find the solutions we need. What if that were true?
------------------------------------------------------------ ================================================ Finding new opportunities for artists is not normally developed around convergence with emerging marketplaces. The commissioned work business model has remained a mainstay for artists seeking to turn their passion into their livelihood. But that typically focuses primarily on large corporations or institutions commissioning art works by an artist. However, here the p2p concepts of the commons, knowledge industries, and open collaborations provide substantial inspiration. Walked toward crowdsourcing but veering a bit around a curve to see what else is on that road. ````````````````````````````````````````````````````````` ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Zoom Out
Continued technological advancement depends on solving the alternative energy issue. But we'll zoom back in a bit and come back to that. ==================================> The work going on in research circles most likely to inform the kind of solutions we need are often not great for media sound bites. It requires more attention than many people have to spare. Additionally, written in technical language or industry jargon they are not always the most accessible means of spreading ideas or new information. For a long time new ideas were discussed in closed circles among academics, institutions, companies, foundations, etc. that produce papers and convened events about their work. Now because the papers, presentations, podcasts, and videos are readily available online they have proven the validity of digital philanthropy. The p2pfoundation has introduced some interesting thinking about the emerging knowledge sectors and free proliferation of new ideas and information. Organic specializations are creating the new industry of knowledge workers and knowledge-entrepreneurs. One of the implications as it relates to systemic growth. In more open knowledge sharing systems there are opportunities for new kinds of teachers, for example. Knowledge-preneurs will emerge to fill the gaps in info and technology-preneurs ability to meet the needs of the market. In the new subscription enVision Group more information will be given about specific service packages. You can subscribe for free by clicking the SUBMIT button on the right.
